こども編集部に届いた、西宮市在住の小学５年生の女の子のお母さんからの一通のメッセージ。
病気などで髪を失った人の医療ウイッグを作るため、髪を寄付する「ヘアドネーション」をしたいと髪を伸ばしてきた、杉本智允（じゆん）さん。
その挑戦を見守りながら、取材をさせていただくことになりました。
ヘアドネーションのことを
もっといろんな人たちに
知ってもらいたい
今回取材に協力してくれた、杉本智允さん（小学５年生）は、１年生の頃から髪を伸ばしていました。
1年ほど前にお母さんからヘアドネーションのことを聞き、困っている人に届けて喜んでもらい、助けたいという思いから「やってみよう」と決心。
髪の長さはおおよそ１メートルぐらいにまで達しました。
髪の毛が伸びてくると、シャンプーやリンス、ドライヤー、ヘアアレンジなどに時間がかかり、大変だったことも多くあったそうです。
今回は、ヘアドネーションに対応している塩屋の美容院「ｂｅａｕｃｏｕｐ（ボクー）」さんに協力をお願いし、ヘアドネーションのためのカットを間近に見学させていただきました。
美容院に入ると、智允さんは緊張した表情でした。説明のあと、髪の毛を１１個の束にしてくくっていきます。くくった部分の１センチ上を、美容師さんが切っていきます。切っている間、笑顔で様子をずっと見ていました。
１１束のうちの２本は智允さんの妹たちとお母さんが、１本は自分で切りました。切られた髪を触らせてもらいましたが、すごくスベスベで、普段から大切に手入れされていたことがわかります。
智允さんは「また髪の毛が伸びたらもう一度やりたい。そしてみんなにヘアドネーションのことを知ってもらいたい」と話してくれました。病気で頑張っている子どもたちのために自分ができることをやり終えた智允さんは、すごいことをやり遂げたなと思いました。
智允さんの髪の毛にはたくさんの思いがこもっていて、でき上がったウイッグをつけた子どもは、きっと喜び、笑顔があふれていると思います。早くウィッグが届くことを願い、そしてヘアドネーションのことがもっといろんな方々に広がっていけばいいなと思いました。
ヘアドネーションは髪の長さなど条件もありますが、パーマや染めている人でもでき、老若男女問わず誰でもできます。興味のある方はぜひ、ホームページで調べてみてください。

We had the pleasure of interviewing her by observing his challenge.

Jiyun Sugimoto, a 5th grader, has been growing her hair since she was in the 1st grade.
About a year ago, her mother told her about hair Donation, and she decided to give it a try because she wanted to deliver it to people in need, make them happy, and help them.
The length of her hair has reached approximately one meter.
As her hair grew longer, it took her a lot of time to wash her hair with shampoo and hair conditioner, dry her hair and arrange her hair, which was often difficult.
This time, we asked for the cooperation of “beaucoup,” a beauty salon in Shioya that supports hair donation, and we were able to observe up close the cutting for hair donation.
Upon entering the hair salon, she had a nervous look on her face. After an explanation, the hair was tied into 11 bundles. The hairdresser cut 1 cm above the bunched part. While she was cutting, I kept watching her with a smile on my face.
Two of the 11 strands were cut by her sisters and mother, and one strand by herself. I was allowed to touch the cut hair, which was very smooth, showing that the hair had been cared for.
Jiyun said, “When my hair grows long again, I want to do it again, and I want everyone to know about hair donation. ”
I thought that Jiyun had done an amazing thing by completing what she could do for the children who were suffering from diseases.
I am sure that the child who wears the wig will be so happy and full of smiles. I hope that the wigs will be delivered soon and that hair donation will spread to more and more people.
